10 liters displacement, if I am not mistaken. Seems like much engine for 200 horsepower.

Keep in mind that that’s at 2800 RPM, and with no turbo, and diesels don’t do great on torque without a turbo.

2800 won’t be the torque peak, and that’s a BMEP of 6.1 bar, versus 9.03 bar for the highest specific torque production naturally aspirated diesel ever, the Nissan YD22DD. (It’s 15.08 bar for the Ferrari 458's engine, though, for gasoline engines with high specific torque.)

If I could translate all the jargon, I’d be schooled.

Ha! My car makes 200hp with half the displacement...

Basically, it’s making that power at very low barometric pressure, I think.

Brake Mean Effective Pressure .

basically if you know an engine’s displacement, and the BMEP you’re targeting, you can pretty much “guess” the engine’s peak torque output.

like bhtooefr said, it’s a normally aspirated diesel and those are pretty much gutless. Plus, the 3208 was considered a junk “throwaway” engine in its day.

Probably why it’s sitting on my friend’s shop floor right now.
